Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong presents the GMP certificate to Traphaco Hung Yen pharmaceutical factory.

Traphaco has invested in the latest technology to build a "smart" pharmaceutical plant. The factory is located on an area of 46,288 m2 with a total investment of VND477 billion, including 3 workshops and 5 production lines.

With the application of information technology in management and production, the plant has the following synchronized and automatic production lines: The most modern eye drop production line in Vietnam, which uses the BFS technology, the production line of pills using European standard robot arms. The large-capacity syringe and liquid medicine production lines are fully synchronized and connected automatically. Based on the principle of "No touch, No dust" in production, the whole lines minimize human intervention in production, improving product quality.

Towards the construction of the "green pharmaceutical" factory, the waste treatment system is also designed and controlled automatically to ensure the best environmental protection standards in accordance with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The raw materials are imported directly from reputable suppliers in the world (UK, France, USA, Germany, Japan ...).

"The inauguration of the smart pharmaceutical factory demonstrates the determination of all employees of Traphaco Joint Stock Company to realize Traphaco's sustainable development strategy, which is also a great achievement towards the 45th anniversary of the company," said Ms. Vu Thi Thuan, Chairman of Traphaco Management Board.

"We are extremely excited about bringing the world's most up-to-date technology to the plant in the shortest time. In just two years, all of Traphaco's staff has worked day and night to turn a plot of vacant land into the most modern pharmaceutical factory of Vietnam. Thanks to the application of modern technology according to the GMP-WHO standard, the factory has the capacity of 1.2 billion products a year, with only 130 workers participating in the whole process of production, a cut of one half of the  workforce compared to the older production processes, while productivity increases three times over the previous technology," said Mr. Tran Tuc Ma, Traphaco General Director.

With many years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, former Deputy Health Minister in charge of pharmaceuticals, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Truyen said: "Each year, the Health Insurance Fund spends about VND50 trillion to payment for the drugs offered to hospitals through biddings, which shows that the need for drugs of high quality is huge. Some domestic pharmaceutical companies have started to applying higher standards such as GMP/EU, GMP/PICs. The success of Traphaco in applying the latest production technology is not only Traphaco's story, but also the development story of the pharmaceutical industry. "

Mr. Mathias Ehrtmann, Manager of pharmaceutical and food at Rieckermann Group, a 125-year-old German corporation specializing in the supply of top-quality pharmaceutical equipment, said: "Today, BFS technology is the latest in sterile technology that is being used by leading eye drops companies. In Vietnam, Traphaco is the first company to apply this technology to the production of eye drops. With sterile BFS technology, the vial is made of resinous plastic, which is then filled with the medicine and sealed in the automatic, continuous operation cycle, in the grade A LAF environment, absolutely without human intervention. The automated process of BFS significantly reduces manual intervention and product risks, ensuring absolute sterility for the product."

The modern drug factory is an important step to realize the strategy of sustainable development of Traphaco, step by step demonstrating its determination to make breakthroughs and affirm its leading position in the pharmaceutical industry of Vietnam - a leading pharmaceutical company in Vietnam based on modern technology, high quality human resources and modern management system.
