The Title is considered as a precious award granted by the State and Party for the unceasing efforts of TRAPHACO in its business performance in general and for its contributions to the society in particular.

After more than 10 years of equitization, TRAPHACO is seen as an enterprise with highest growth rate and owning factory with largest capacity and equipped with the most advance technologies in the North of Vietnam. The company’s annual growth rate is always maintained from 25% to 35%. More importantly, thanked to the continuous efforts of all staffs and workers, TRAPHACO brand has been deeply ingrained in the Vietnamese consumers’ consciousness. TRAPHACO is also the only brand in the pharmaceutical sector that remains in the list of TOP 100 strong brands receiving Vietnam Gold Star Award for many years, and achieve the title of Vietnam high quality products in 13 years continuously. In 2008, TRAPHACO has been granted as “the most famous Brand in the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Sector”.

As an enterprise involving in taking care the health of people, TRAPHACO always pays attention to the local community development activities particularly the ones related to corporate social responsibility. Every year, thousands of consulting sessions to provide health care services to the elderly and support women clubs, Red Cross are organized by TRAPHACO in Ha Noi and many other provinces and cities over all Vietnam. Every year, dozens of billion VND and products are used for free health care services and gifts for the elderly and charitable programs such as “Warm clothes for the highlands”, “For the dear Central Region”, “Merciful arm” etc.

The objective of TRAPHACO by the year 2020 is to become a powerful economic corporation that specializes in delivering health care products and services and has the capability in researching and developing high technology products with natural origins. The development strategy that has been identified is to consider science and technology as the main focus, market as the direction, growth as incentive and quality as commitments to clients.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Thuan, the strategic direction of the Company in the coming years is to continue making breakthroughs in the technologies so that the natural herbs can be used in the production to make valuable and efficient products. By doing this, the real value of Vietnam’s herbal resource can be used for taking care and protecting people’s health. TRAPHACO always gives high attention to using, protecting, regenerating and developing effectively local herbal resource. This not only helps the Company be initiative in raw material resources, reduce product costs but more importantly help patients cut down treatment costs while creating high income jobs for thousands of farmers and ethnic minority people in the remote and isolated areas. TraphacoSapa one member Liability Limited Company located on areas of 10,000m² in Lao Cai province that offers 1,000 tons of clean and high quality raw material annually from Sapa moutain contributes to create products for ensuring people health (with typical product of Boganic).

Ms. Vu Thi Thuan also mentioned that in the time to come, TRAPHACO will apply following synchronized solutions: improving human resources (new training, re-training, advance-training in home and foreign countries), renovating the management model to fit with its size and the integration process (mother company, subsidiary companies with mixed type of capital ownership); focusing on researching and developing products from herbs, playing the leading role in conducting researches on developing medicines from Vietnamese herbs; investing in advance technologies and equipments to push up the production; enlarging local and world market; retaining high growth rate (average annual growth rate of 20%) following the industrialization and modernization direction; integrating with the regional and international economy; ensuring sustainable development.

Being established in the early 1970s (1972), so far TRAPHACO has experienced 39 years of establishment and development including 10 years of equitization with so many challenges and difficulties when changing from the subsidiary mechanism to the self-planning mechanism: inadequate infrastructure; high competition from foreign pharmaceutical companies with advance technology and strong financial resource etc. Under such the circumstance, the Company leaders has decided to focus on making medicines from herbal raw material following the direction “New technology combined with traditional character”

- With constant efforts to self affirm for development, within only 11 months of 2010, TRAPHACO has achieved the turnover of VND732.6 billion and profit before tax of VND 83.7 billion.

- Currently, there are two manufacturing factories in TRAPHACO: 01 modern medicine making factory with GMP-WHO standards located in Ha Noi, 01 Oriental medicines making factory with GMP-WHO standards located in Hung Yen province. In addition, TRAPHACO has two subsidiary companies: TRAPHACO Hi-Tech Joint Stock Company, TraphacoSapa one member liability limited company. Furthermore, TRAPHACO has opened agencies in 64 provinces and cities overall Vietnam and 7 branches and agencies in Laos, Cambodia and Ucraina etc.

- Thanked to the good combination of investment in high quality human resource and modern infrastructure, in September 2009, TRAPHACO was given the GMP-WHO certificate by the Vietnamese Pharmaceutical Administration Department for the Oriental medicines making factory in Hung Yen province. The factory is seen as the first, biggest and most modern ones in terms of technology and production process in the oriental medicines sector in Vietnam.

- Taking the local advantage of abundant herb source together with the long experience in oriental medicine, TRAPHACO has made continuous investment in the infrastructure and cooperating with scientists, research organizations etc. Concretely, the Company has cooperated with the Bio-Technology Institute - Vietnam’s Science Institute to undertake researches and apply bio-technologies in making more effective and preeminent products for utilization and treatment. Especially, this has been applied in extracting jelly from Cynara scolymus L leaves: eliminating enzyme that disintegrates polyphenol, preserving the activity of polyphenol in Cynara scolymus. TRAPHACO is also the leading ones in proposing and cooperating with National Institute of Medicinal Materials and other institutes, universities in carrying out government projects “Establishing some processes for processing and making clean herbs to produce high quality finished products”. This is considered as a premise for creating safe and effective products from clean herbs. Results of the project have been being applied to produce some products such as Boganic, Hoat Huyet Duong Lao, Vien sang mat (eye product), etc.

- TRAPHACO is one of the very few enterprises that do not hesitate to invest in making a difference in the direction to create a breakthrough in the growth and quickly become the leading brand in the Vietnam pharmaceutical sector. The difference of TRAPHACO is not only based on the differences in the physical properties, efficiency of products but in the brand and the relations that have been created in the mind of people in Vietnam and around the world.

- Beginning with some finished products, now each year 10 new products are introduced to the market by TRAPHACO. The Company products that have been registered in the market jumped from 103 in 1999 to 200 in 2009. Especially, more than 70% of products are originated from herbs. TRAPHACO brand has been protected in 10 countries in the world. In April 2010, TRAPHACO became the only enterprise in Vietnam that was given the WIPO Award by the World Intellectual Property Organization.

- Modernizing traditional medicines, promoting national quintessence based on modern machinery and techniques and exporting products successfully to foreign countries seem to be a breakthrough of TRAPHACO. Technical barriers on medicinal products are found strictly every where in the world, however, TRAPHACO has been finding out a way to overcome such the barriers. To do this, different standard systems such as GMP- WHO and GSP/GLP/GDP- ASEAN standards and ISO 9001:2008 quality control system, ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standards and applied the 5S of Japan have been applied by TRAPHACO.
